1. About these terms

These terms govern your use of this website and the services provided by Set The Tone, a trading name of APR Consulting Group Ltd ("we", "us", "our"). APR Consulting Group Ltd is registered in England and Wales under company number 16953162, with its registered office at C/O Accounts And Legal, 81 King Street, Manchester, Greater Manchester, England, M2 4AH.

By using this website or any of our services, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with any part of them, please don't use the site or services.

2. Using this website

You can use this website to read our content, sign up for our newsletter, take our assessments, download our free resources, book calls with us, and purchase our services.

You agree not to:

We reserve the right to refuse access to anyone who breaches these terms.

3. Our content and yours

Our content

The content on this website — including writing, frameworks, assessments, course material, design, branding, and trade marks — is owned by APR Consulting Group Ltd or used with permission. You can read it, share specific articles or links, and forward our emails to colleagues. You can't republish substantial portions of it as your own, sell it, or use it to create a competing service.

Where we share frameworks (TONE, Management OS, etc.), you're welcome to use them in your own work and team. We just ask that you credit Set The Tone if you reference them publicly.

Your content

If you submit information to us — through forms, assessments, emails, or as a client — you keep ownership of that information. You give us permission to use it as needed to deliver what you've asked for, in line with our privacy policy.

4. Newsletters and free resources

When you sign up for our newsletter or download a free resource, you'll receive emails from us. These typically include the resource you signed up for, our weekly newsletter (Behind Closed Doors), and occasional notes about new things we're running.

You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link at the bottom of any email. We don't share your email address with third parties.

We offer a range of paid services, including bespoke programmes, the Foundations cohort, the People Partner offering, and one-to-one coaching. The specific terms of any paid engagement — scope, deliverables, timing, fees — are set out in a separate proposal or agreement signed by both parties.

Where you purchase a service through this website (for example, the Foundations cohort), the following applies:

6. Refunds and cancellations

Specific refund and cancellation terms are set out in the agreement or sign-up page for each service. Where the page describes a guarantee (for example, the Foundations cohort's "show up to the first 3 sessions and ask for a refund" guarantee), that guarantee applies as written.

For consumer purchases under UK law, you have a 14-day right to cancel from the date of purchase, subject to certain exceptions including services that have begun delivery with your express consent. We'll honour cancellation rights as required by the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

For business-to-business engagements, refunds are governed by the terms of the specific engagement agreement.

If you have any concern about a payment, contact us at arran.russell@setthetonegroup.co.uk and we'll work it out.

7. Third-party services and links

This website integrates with third-party services including Kit (email), ScoreApp (assessments), Calendly (booking), and Stripe (payments). When you use those features, the third party's own terms apply alongside ours.

We may also link to other websites we think are useful. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content or practices.

8. Liability

We try to make sure the content on this website is accurate, useful, and current — but we offer it as general information, not as advice tailored to your specific situation. Management decisions, hiring decisions, and similar are your call. Don't rely on website content alone where the stakes are material.

For paid engagements, our liability is governed by the agreement covering that engagement.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or anything else that can't be limited or excluded under English law.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of this website (excluding paid engagements covered by separate agreements) is limited to £100.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change. Continuing to use the site after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute relating to these terms or your use of this website will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

11. Contact

If you have any questions about these terms, contact us at arran.russell@setthetonegroup.co.uk.
